Tomato soup and unemployment.

Why the hell do I have to eat anyway? Take today. I have some stuff to do, including seeing a John Wayne movie. So I go to the library, see the damn flick, and get a stomachache because I'm so hungry. I could buy myself a nice sandwich or some lovely Indian food, but I want to economize, and instead pick up a can of tomato soup and some ginger ale.

Yes, ginger ale. Part two of why I hate eating: I have gotten a bad stomachache after the last 3 or 4 meals I've eaten, most of which were pretty bland: pasta with oil, couscous and vegetable salad, that kind of thing. So my stomach hurts before and after. On top of the fact that cooking and eating take so much time. I really need to finish my essay, but I had to make and eat tomato soup. Why? Why couldn't my body just wait? I'm being good and laying off the caffeine. Man.

You'll have to excuse me for being in a pissed-off mood overall. The weather here really has me in a funk, I'm pretty stressed out even though this is technically my weekend, and my friend just got fired today. She and I don't work during the same hours, but it still sucks, for her and for everyone. I can't claim that she was a great employee, but neither is Da Boss-Lady. And I happen to know that there is a University procedure for lettting people go, which doesn't necessarily apply to students, but I get the feeling that this is something DBL did on one of her famous whims, which is pretty unfair, as far as I'm concerned. Although, if DBL took the time away from her notorious day-long personal phone calls to sack someone, maybe things are improving in Warner Hall.
